Production Notes
(from the original American Press Book)
Christopher Jones' dream of owning
a $20,000 Ferrari racer came true while on location in Rome for
Columbia Pictures' "Brief Season," the Dino De Laurentiis
production in color which co-stars Pia Degermark.
Chris accepted delivery of his
prize possession the day before Italy had a gasoline strike,
delaying his test spin. Jones was looking forward to taking Miss
Degermark for a drive the weekend the strike ended, but had to
postpone it when their film went on a seven-day schedule. Jones
decided he would at least drive the Ferrari to and from the studio,
only to have the production manager inform him that insurance
regulations on the film forbade him from driving the racing car.
Lovely Pia Degermark, the Swedish
actress starring with Christopher Jones in Columbia Pictures'
"Brief Season," the Dino De Laurentiis production in
color, uses her experience as a skier to help her career as an
actress. "It's fun, but so is skiing," she says. "When
I find a slope, or a part, that's too steep and rocky. I turn
back."
They say that "home is where
you hang your hat." Pia Degermark, who stars with Christopher
Jones in Columbia Pictures' "Brief Season," the Dino
De Laurentiis production in color, at last report had more places
than hats! Daughter of a wealthy Swedish textile manufacturer,
Pia has apartments in Paris, Rome and London, a villa at Cannes,
a chalet in Switzerland and she also has leased a brownstone
in New York City.
Like sunny California, sunny
Italy is not always so sunny.
During production of Columbia
Pictures' "Brief Season," the Dino De Laurentiis production
starring Christopher Jones and Pia Degermark, the day dawned
sunny and warm for a day's shooting at the mountain village of
Frascati, near Rome.
At 10 a.m., the rains came, and
everyone fled to a coffee bar. At noon, the rain turned to hail
and the "Brief Season" company adjourned to a restaurant.
By three, the hail had turned to snow, so everyone holed up in
a hotel. |
